Try its footswitches: Prospect digs a new pattern, and two presses of Tap set the tempo.
Deep Lead
a step fuzz, on a mine section
A deep lead is an old riverbed full of gold, buried under the basalt, and on the goldfields the diggers sank shafts down to it. This one is drawn like a surveyor’s section through a claim: the strata in white, the wash along the bottom in gold, and eight shafts.
Each shaft is a step in an eight-step sequence, and how deep its lamp is, is how far the filter dives on that step. The shaft that’s playing burns brightest. When a step goes all the way down, the window at the face lights: on the gold. Prospect digs a new pattern, and holding it stakes your claim. The boiler-house fire burns as hard as the fuzz, and the cat sits by the first shaft.
